Patch Installation Instructions:

For Solaris 2.0-2.6 releases, refer to the Install.info file and/or
the README within the patch for instructions on using the generic
'installpatch' and 'backoutpatch' scripts provided with each patch.
 
For Solaris 7-8 releases, refer to the man pages for instructions on
using 'patchadd' and 'patchrm' scripts provided with Solaris.
Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be
described below as special instructions.  The following example
installs a patch to a standalone machine:
 
        example# patchadd /var/spool/patch/104945-02
 
The following example removes a patch from a standalone system:
 
        example# patchrm 104945-02
 
For additional examples please see the appropriate man pages.


Special Install Instructions:
----------------------------- 
 
To make the fix for 6426598 (htt_server loops in msgrcv->poll which
causes significant delay on X window environment) effective, you
need to restart the htt_server process after patch installation.

1) Make sure all users are logged out from X session.

2) Restart htt_server.

   # /etc/init.d/IIim stop
   # /etc/init.d/IIim start

This patch can issue warning messages during installation.

For each type of the messages, explanation and needed actions
are described below.
 
1) "Warning: unexpected symbolic link: <pathname>"
 
    This symbolic link is not expected, and possibly bogus.
    You should remove the link.
 
2) "Warning: atok12.conf is symbolic link: user=<username>"
 
    /var/locale/ja/atokserver/users/<username>/atok12.conf must
    be a regular file.
 
    You should delete and re-add the user using atok12mngtool.
    See "Solaris 8 Online Release Notes Update" in "Solaris 8 
    Release Documents Collection - Japanese" for instructions 
    on atok12mngtool.
 
3) "Warning: unexpected type of file: <pathname>"
 
    This file is neither a regular file nor a symbolic link.
    You should remove the file.
