There are three possible procedures for installing patches on Sun
Cluster 3.0.  Additional instructions for this patch are specified
below in the "Special Install Instructions" section.
 
Refer to the chapter entitled "Patching Sun Cluster Software and
Firmware" in the Sun Cluster 3.0 System Administration Guide for a
description of the different installation processes and instructions on how
to install Sun Cluster 3.0 patches.
 
For Solaris 8 release, refer to the man pages for instructions on
using 'patchadd' and 'patchrm' scripts provided with Solaris.

Install this patch using the patch install procedure for a "Rebooting
Patch (node)" as described in the "Patching Sun Cluster Software and
Firmware" chapter of the "Sun Cluster 3.0 System Administration Guide".
 
NOTE 1:  This patch (110648-02 or greater) is required for use with
         Solaris 8 1/01 (update 3) or Solaris Kernel patch 108528-05 
         (or greater).  Failure to meet this requirement will cause
         the cluster to hang at boot time.  See additional instructions
         below.
 
NOTE 2:  This patch (110648-11 or greater) REQUIRES Solaris 8 10/01
         (update 6) or Solaris kernel patch 108528-11 (or greater).
 
NOTE 3:  To get the complete fix for bugID 4530153 (SC 3.0 does not

         Sun Cluster 3.0:
 
         1.  Install Solaris 8 on cluster servers
         2.  Install all required or recommended Solaris 8 patches (see 
             NOTE 1 above) as necessary.
         3.  Install SC 3.0 and pick the "no reboot" option in scinstall
 
             DO NOT REBOOT
 
         4.  Install this patch  (110648-02 or greater)
         5.  Reboot
 
         Patching on an Existing SC 3.0 Installation:
 
         If you are applying Solaris 8 Kernel Patch 108528-05 or greater to 
         an existing cluster that does not have this patch (110648-02 or greater) 
         already installed,
 
         BOTH PATCHES MUST BE INSTALLED SEQUENTIALLY without an
         intervening reboot.
 
         To do this, follow the normal instructions for installing a Rebooting
         Patch (Node) in the SC 3.0 System Administration Guide under "Patching
         Sun Cluster Software and Firmware".  It is recommended that whenever
         the procedure says to reboot into single-user mode, that you boot into
         non-clustered single-user mode, by using the boot flags "-sx" rather
         than "-s".
 
         Installing this patch with Solaris 8 Kernel Patch 108528-04 or older
         ---------------------------------------------------------------------
 
         YOU MUST INSTALL THIS PATCH (110648-02 or greater) in order to 
         install SC 3.0 on Solaris 8 with Kernel Patch 108528-05 (or greater). 
         Rebooting with this kernel patch without this SC 3.0 patch will 
         CAUSE THE CLUSTER TO HANG ON REBOOT!!!
 
NOTE 6:  About BugIDs 4343139 & 4599466
 
         The fix for bugs 4343139 & 4599466 includes the package
         SUNWscrdt. This package is available in update 3 (or greater).

         112442-02 (or greater), the system may become unstable.
 
NOTE 11: To get the complete fix for bugID 4766016 (SC 3.0 does not 
         support bge ethernet interface as cluster interconnect)

NOTE 12: About BugID 4803684
 
         This patch enables Sun Cluster to work with the bge ethernet
         device. When installing Sun Cluster on a cluster with one or
         more bge devices on the private interconnect, the following
         special procedure needs to be followed.
 
         1.  Install Sun Cluster packages from the CD using 'scinstall -i'.
             This will install the packages but will not perform the
             Sun Cluster configuration steps.
         2.  Install this patch.
         3.  Perform steps 1 and 2 on all new cluster nodes before
             proceeding to the next step.
         4.  Run scinstall again, this time without any options. When you
             are asked whether you want to use autodiscovery for private
             interconnect configuration, choose no. Autodiscovery does not
             work well for bge devices. Please use the manual option to
             enter the private interconnect configuration.
