Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------
If using patchadd:
o download 121454-02 and any dependency patches (See above)
o run 'patchadd <path>/121454-02' where <path> is the directory in which
the patch resides.
For additional examples please see the appropriate man pages for patchadd
or patchrm.
If using the Sun Update Connection, Preview Release Update Manager
or the Solaris 10 Patch Manager (including smpatch update): These tools will
install the patch(es) that this patch depends on, but will only download this
patch and will not automatically install it.
Once downloaded by one of these tools, this patch can be installed using
"smpatch add":
# smpatch add -i 121454-02
Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------
You must register your system before you can use this software. Please refer
to the instructions found at: http://www.sun.com/updateconnection/getstarted
for further details.
This patch replaces the orignal Solaris 10 version of the 'smpatch'
command. If you have been using the Solaris 10 'smpatch' command to
manage patches on your Solaris 10 system, the new version will require
that you register your Solaris 10 system *before* using it to access
patches.
Please refer to the instructions found at:
http://www.sun.com/updateconnection/getstarted for further details.
This patch provides a new version of the infrastructure that underlies
the Solaris 10 Patch Manager and smpatch commands. Those tools will
not operate until you register your system.
The software installed depends on the software present in the Solaris
10 End User metacluster, and may not function if installed on a smaller
metacluster
If this patch is installed on a system without the Sun Update
Connection client software installed, no additional actions are
required. If this patch is to be installed on top of an earlier
release of the Sun Update Connection client software (patch IDs
119108-01 or 119108-03) *and* the system is enabled to be managed from
the Sun Update Connection hosted application, then the Sun Update
Connection client daemon must be restarted. You can reboot the system,
or you can restart just that daemon:
The following example command shows that this daemon is running:
# ps -ef | grep cct
root 10411 10408 0 Aug 02 ? 16:13 /usr/lib/cc-cfw/platform/transport/bin/cctransport
To restart the daemon:
# /usr/lib/cc-cfw/framework/lib/cc-client-adm stop
# /usr/lib/cc-cfw/framework/lib/cc-client-adm start
