  * The Communication Express application is deployed
    in "/var/opt/SUNWuwc" directory.
 
  * The Communication Express patch 122793-36 needs to be configured
 
  * The patch-config tool shall be invoked as:
 
        /opt/SUNWuwc/sbin/patch-config -d /var/opt/SUNWuwc /opt/SUNWuwc/install/patch/122793-36
 
  * The install-newconfig tool shall be invoked as:
 
        /opt/SUNWuwc/sbin/install-newconfig /opt/SUNWuwc/install/patch/122793-36
 
 
How the patch config process works:-
 
  To apply the patch files and patch configuration to Communications Express 
  deployment, the patch-config tool and the install-newconfig tool should be run. 
    a) Run the "patch-config" tool: 
 
         - This tool prepares the patch files and configuration and gets 
           these files ready to be installed.
 
         - The new patch file versions are created under
 
             <uwc-basedir>/install/patch/122793-36/save
 
           122793-36 represents the number of the patch that is configured.
 
           The save directory has the same directory structure layout 
           as the <uwc-basedir> directory, except that the files under
           <uwc-basedir>/lib/config-templates directory are relocated
           to <uwc-basedir>.
 
         - For each file included in this patch, this tool prepares two files
           under <uwc-basedir>/install/patch/122793-36/save.
 
           The two files are, <file> and <file>.new
           Where,
             <file> represents the file backed up from previous 
                               Communications Express deployment.
             <file>.new represents the new patch file version supplied
                               in this patch. This file will be deployed
                               in the Communications Express deployment 
                               when you run install-newconfig program.

   IMPORTANT NOTE: Please review the changes in the new patch files before 
                   applying them by running install-newconfig program. 
                   To review the changes, please see the difference 
                   between the files <file> and <file>.new

    b) Run the "install-newconfig" tool:
 
         - This tool installs the new patch files prepared by patch-config tool.
 
         - This program installs all the ".new" files prepared by patch-config
           tool into Communications Express deployment.
 
 
Patch configuration backout instructions:-
 
    * To backout the patch configuration from Communications Express deployment,
      please perform the following steps:
 
        i)  Run <uwc-basedir>/SUNWuwc/sbin/backout-newconfig
 
            For example, to backout the patch 122793-36 configuration from
            Communications Express deployment, run
 
              <uwc-basedir>/SUNWuwc/sbin/backout-newconfig <uwc-basedir>/SUNWuwc/install/patch/122793-36
 
              - This tool reverts back the Communications Express deployment
                to the state where it was before the patch configuration
                was applied.
 
              - This tool also helps maintain a backup of any file modifications
                performed after the last patch configuration under the directory

                an extension ".backup".
 
 * To backout the package, run "patchrm" command.

A new property is introduced in this fix called "db.sharePabContacts" and it has to be enabled 
in the following properties file:
 
        /var/opt/SUNWuwc/WEB-INF/domain/personalstore.properties
 
By default, this property is set to false. Customers who want to avail this functionality have to
enable this feature by setting it to "true" in the above mentioned properties file:
 
        E.g:    db.sharePabContacts = true
 
With this fix, it is now possible to share the Personal Addressbook with users across different
organizational units but within the same domain and with users whose dn does not begin with uid.
 
For eg:
 
A user with a "dn" value :
 
        uid=xxx,ou=people,o=domain.com,dc=sun,dc=com
 
can share his Personal Address Book with a user who has a dn (NOTE: dn is not of the form "uid=..."):
 
        cn=yyy,ou=people,o=domain.com,dc=sun,dc=com
 
Also, users in one organizational unit within the same domain can now share their
Personal Addressbook with users in other organizational units:

As of patch 20, the files for localization have been integrated
into the core patch itself. The older packages are no longer needed
and should be removed. These are the SPAL package (for FRESH R5 installations)
SUNWuwc-l10n and the non-SPAL packages (JES4 and earlier installations)
SUNWcuwc, SUNWduwc, SUNWeuwc, SUNWfuwc, SUNWhuwc SUNWjuwc, SUNWkuwc.
 
Customers should remove the older packages before applying the patch.
This also means that any patches associated with these packages no longer apply and are incompatible. These are incompatible: 118042-22 126233-04
 
More information relating to the l10n portion of the patch:
 
Because the localization related files are now part of the core product patch,
this means it is a single patch to be used by all locales (english and

Note : This Patch 122793-36 will not back up the customizations done
to any Localization files in your deployment.
 
This normally would be 
Install dir: /opt/SUNWuwc 
Deploy dir: /var/opt/SUNWuwc
or for R6 fresh installs: /opt/sun/comms/ce and /var/opt/sun/comms/ce
respectively.
 
Step 2: Clean up the Comms Express L10n pkg/RPMs (not core ones)
i.e if you have any of the localization pkgs/RPMs (listed above)
then
- remove the appropriate non-SPAL or SPAL package (mentioned earlier) using the
 "pkgrm <packagename>" command. If on Linux, use the "rpm -e <packagename>" command.
- then also delete following localization directories and files from
the deployment directory (mentioned earlier):

where uwc_deploy_dir is /var/opt/SUNWuwc/<path> - the place
where customizations have been stored. For Fresh Install R6 customers the deployment path most likely will be /var/opt/sun/comms/ce.
 
Step 3: Apply patch 122793-36
 
NOTE: After adding this patch as you would do normally (see instructions 
above including configuration), please put back your customizations you 
had. Manual merging is required hence the need to back up the files as 
described in step 1.
 
CR 6682153 Not able to subscribe a folder due to missing  dropdown
(All shared folder,Searched Shared Folders)

CR 6606569 Inviting a group calendar from the corporate address book does not work as expected

For the complete fix for 6606569 it requires that the Calendar Server 
and the Delegated Administrator software be on the latest patch level: CS: 121657-28, DA: 121581-18 (or higher revisions)
 
For any calendar group created prior to DA patch 18 being applied, you must recreate the group.

Parameter Name : gotoUri
 
This parameter should be used to configure the user's landing page, i.e the page the user sees first after login. The current default is the mail page.
 
There are 3 ways to configure this :
 
1. As part of the browser URL
2. As an attribute in the user's ldap entry
3. As a configuration property on the server
 
1. As part of the browser URL :

if the browser URL is : http://<fully-qualified-host-name>:<port-number>/uwc then access the URL modified as : http://<fully-qualified-host-name>:<port-number>/uwc?gotoUri=<landing-page-choice>
 
Hit enter and when the login page loads enter the username and password. After successful login landing page as mentioned in the gotoUri should appear.
 
2. As an attribute in the user's ldap entry :

In the user's ldap entry the attribute sunUCExtendedUserPrefs is a multi-valued attribute. Add the following value to it : "landingPage=<landing-page-choice>"
 
3. As a configuration property on the server :

Add a preference called uwc.gotoUri=<landing-page-choice> in the file uwcconfig.properties
 
Note that all or any of the above are optional and the precedence order is as follows : 
 
(1) takes precedence over (2) takes precedence over (3)
 
Some possible values for the <landing-page-choice> are as follows : 
 
/abclient/AddressBook - For directly viewing the Address Book
/base/UWCMain?forwardtodefview=true - For directly viewing the Calendar
 
The general rule of thumb for deciding the landing-page-value is follows :
 
It is the string that follows the application context. For example the Calendar Preferences options page's URL is :
 
http://<host-name>:<port-number>/uwc/base/CalendarPreferences
 
So, if we wanted to configure the landing-page as the Calendar Preferences page then the gotoUri would be "/base/CalendarPreferences"
 
Also, note that if the gotoUri is an empty string then it is ignored.

the authentication separator.New property "uwc.loginseparator" is added in uwcauth.properties.
Login separator is/are Character(s) to be used as login separator (between userid and domain).

NOTE : The following is applicable ONLY IF Access Manager is enabled. In other words only if the uwcauth.identity.enabled parameter is set to "true" in the uwcauth.properties file
 
The fix for this CR 6798573 provides and entry point into the access manager from uwc. This now requires that either of the following parameters be set in the file uwcauth.properties. 
 
The parameters are :
 
uwcauth.identity.login.url
(OR)
uwcauth.identity.ssl.login.url
 
if neither of the parameters are set then this will result in a "HTTP Status 500" screen at the time of logging in. The uwc logs will show the following errors :
 
SEVERE: A Proper URL is not set for uwcauth.identity.ssl.login.url. This may result in errors
SEVERE: Check uwcauth.properties and set the uwcauth.identity.ssl.login.url parameter correctly
 
This is rectified by providing a valid url for either of the parameters :
 
uwcauth.identity.login.url
(OR)
uwcauth.identity.ssl.login.url
 
in the file uwcauth.properties.

A new configuration parameter "uwcauth.identity.defaultbehave" has been introduced into the uwcauth.properties file.
 
Through this parameter it is now possible to control whether the request for authentication is submitted to the Access Manager or not.
 
if uwcauth.identity.defaultbehave is set to "true" i.e. if uwcauth.identity.defaultbehave=true then the request for authentication is submitted to the Access Manager.
 
if uwcauth.identity.defaultbehave=false then the request is not submitted to the Access Manager. By setting uwcauth.identity.defaultbehave to "false" we get back the behaviour which existed prior to the fix for CR "6798573 - Provide entry point into Access Manager from UWC in R5 as it was in JES4"

CR 6889053 : UWC removing some characters due to XSS prevention
 
Two new configuration parameters have been introduced into the uwcconfig.properties file.
 
The 2 parameters are :
(a) xss_filter_enabled
(b) xss_filter
 
Through these parameters it is now possible to control and configure what strings are filtered as part of the defenses against cross-site scripting attacks.
 
The default value for xss_filter_enabled is "true". It can also be set to "false" in which case user input is not filtered.
 
The format for providing values for xss_filter are as follows :
 
xss_filter=<regular-expression-to-match>[with]<string-to-replace-the-matched-value>[and]...(more than 1 such expressions separated with [and] may be provided.
 
The uwcconfig.properties file comes with a default value for the xss_filter parameter which may be modified as needed.
