using 'patchadd' and 'patchrm' scripts provided with Solaris.
Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be
described below as special instructions.  The following example
installs a patch to a standalone machine:

The following example removes a patch from a standalone system:
 
        example# patchrm 125277-08

Some highlights during installation :
 
	1) L10N patch needs to be installed before the DSEE 6.3.1 patch is applied,
           so that the dsccsetup console-reg  done by the patchadd registers the 6.3.1
           localized console in lockhart. This is also true for patch removal.
 
	   Important : This recommendation applies when upgrading Directory Server Enterprise
	   Edition from 6.0, 6.1 or 6.2 to 6.3.1 version.
	   When upgrading Directory Server Enterprise Edition from 6.3 to 6.3.1 version,
	   there is no latest L10N patch to be installed. As a consequence when downgrading 
	   from Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.3.1 to previous 6.3 version, do not remove
	   the L10N patch.
 
	2) User must stop all DPS instances and DS instances (including the DSCC registry).
	   DPS instances can be stopped using "dpadm stop <dps-instance-path>", and DS instances
	   using "dsadm stop <ds-instance-path>".
 
           Launch "dsccsetup status" to locate the DSCC registry instance path in its output.
	   Stop it using the "dsadm stop <dscc-instance-path>".
 
           After patch installation,, restart the stopped DPS and DS instances using respectively
	   the commands "dpadm start <dps-instance-path>" and "dsadm start <ds-instance-path>".
 
           For an installation using the default location, the paths of dpadm, dsadm and dsccsetup
	   are respectively /opt/SUNWdsee/dps6/bin/dpadm, /opt/SUNWdsee/ds6/bin/dsadm
	   and /opt/SUNWdsee/dscc6/bin/dsccsetup.
 
           If not, this breaks the 6.3.1 console. The same must be done before removing the patch.
