Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------

Please refer to the man pages for instructions on using 'patchadd'
and 'patchrm' commands provided with Solaris.

The following example installs a patch to a standalone machine:

       example# patchadd /var/spool/patch/123456-07

The following example removes a patch from a standalone system:

       example# patchrm 123456-07

For additional examples please see the appropriate man pages. Any
other special or non-generic installation instructions should be
described below as special instructions.

Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------

Solaris Container Manager has to be set up again after applying the patch.
The resetup changes the database configuration.

Follow these steps after applying the patch:

1. Take a backup of the database on Sun Management Center server layer by
   running /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-backup
2. Set up Solaris Container Manager by running /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-setup -p SCM
3. Follow step 2 for the agent layer also.

The older versions of Solaris Container Manager agents are compatible with
the patched server. The agents (patched and unpatched) must be restarted
after the server has been resetup and started.

Features:
---------

1. You can perform the following operations on non-global zones:

	* Rename a zone that is in either the configured state or the installed
      state.

	* Clone a new zone on the same host by copying data from the source
      zonepath to the target zonepath.

	* Move a zone from the current location to the new location on the same
      host.

	* Detach a zone from the source host by moving the zonepath to the target
      host.

	* Migrate a zone from the source host to the target host.

	* Attach a zone on the target host.

2. You can search zones on a host based on certain search criteria.

3. You can modify the set of privileges assigned to zone during zone creation.

4. You can set alarm thresholds on zones and pools. You can also configure the
   zone alarm.
For information on setting alarm thresholds, refer to "Managing Alarms"
   at http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-5420/6n7gm3js8?a=view

5. The tree displays pool and zone alarms in addition to project alarms.

Known Issues and Bugs:
----------------------

The following known issues and bugs exist in this patch:

a. Exceptions are thrown when the Back button is clicked on the browser (6507867)

When you click the Back button on the web browser after selecting a zone,
exceptions are thrown. These exceptions are thrown only once when you click
the Back button.

b. Error message is displayed under additional attributes while renaming
   a zone (6507904)

Though an error message appears, the zone is renamed successfully.

c. The new zone path is not reflected in the Properties tab of the zone (6510932)

The zone path change involves moving the zone to a different location on the same
host. Based on the zone contents and the target file system, this opertation may
take some duration.

d. The number of zone copies field is not validated (6511534)

e. Alarms do not get updated in the tree hierarchy once generated (6511535)

Workaround: You can remove the alarms only by clicking the Open Alarms tab.

f. Zone rename and zone path change cannot be simultaneously performed (6515151)

If you perform this operation simultaneously, only the zone path changes;
The zone name remains the same.

g. UI does not work for disabled agents (6511048)

If an agent is down, the UI tree throws a critical alarm and stops working.
The UI does not show any of the open alarms.
