Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------
There are three (3) possible procedures for installing patches on Solaris
Cluster. The proper method to use and any additional instructions
for this patch are specified below in the "Special Install Instructions"
section.
Refer to the chapter entitled "Patching Sun Cluster Software and
Firmware" in the "Sun Cluster System Administration Guide" for a
description of the different install processes and instructions on how
to install Solaris Cluster 3.2 patches.
Refer to the man pages for instructions on using 'patchadd' and
'patchrm' commands provided with Solaris, to install and remove patches.
Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------
NOTE 1: Install this patch using the patch install procedure for a
"Non Rebooting Sun Cluster Patch" as described in the
"Patching Sun Cluster Software and Firmware" chapter of the
"Sun Cluster 3.2 System Administration Guide"
NOTE 2: Revision -01 delivers all features that are introduced for
Solaris Cluster 3.2 2/08 (update 1).
Revision -03 delivers all features that are introduced for
Solaris Cluster 3.2 1/09 (update 2).
Revision -04 delivers all features that are introduced for
Solaris Cluster 3.2 11/09 (update 3).
NOTE 3: Disable the service on all nodes before patch installation.
NOTE 4: Special instructions for 6623552 (Oracle Apps user password visible
in clear text in clrs show -vv output which any user can run).
With this fix, the APPS user password can now be stored
within a restricted file that can only be read by root.
In order to implement this change you will need to delete
and re-register the Oracle E-Business Suite concurrent
manager resource as follows,
o Disable the concurrent manager resource
/usr/cluster/bin/clrs disable <concurrent manager resource>
o Apply this patch.
o Delete the concurrent manager resource
/usr/cluster/bin/clrs delete <concurrent manager resource>
o Create the file /opt/SUNWscebs/.${APP_SID}_passwd on each
cluster node and include the APPS user password within
that file. Note that ${APP_SID} refers to the
Oracle E-Business Suite Application SID.
o Ensure that /opt/SUNWscebs/.${APP_SID}_passwd on each cluster
node can only be read by root.
o Re-register the concurrent manager resource by editing the
/opt/SUNWscebs/cmg/util/cmg_config file and referring
to the comments within that file. Afterwards, execute
the /opt/SUNWscebs/cmg/util/cmg_register script.
o Enable the concurrent manager resource
/usr/cluster/bin/clrs enable <concurrent manager resource>
