Detailed Installation Steps
---------------------------
1. Stopping Sun Ray services and kiosk sessions
Before the addition or removal of this patch to a Sun Ray server
no Sun Ray Kiosk Mode sessions should be running on the server.
If you have kiosk policy enabled on the server, you should disable
kiosk policy and end all running kiosk sessions or stop the
Sun Ray services before installing the patch.
For instructions for stopping Sun Ray services or disabling kiosk
policy, see the Sun Ray Server Software documentation.
2. Installing the patch
Use the instructions outlined below in the section
"Patch Installation Instructions" for the addition or removal
of this patch.
3. Restarting the Sun Ray server
If you have kiosk policy enabled on the server, the Sun Ray services
must be restarted after the addition or removal of the patch.
To restart Sun Ray services, use the following command:
# /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utrestart -c
NOTE: This command will terminate all running Sun Ray sessions.
Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------
Refer to the man pages for instructions on using the 'patchadd' and 'patchrm'
commands provided with Solaris. Any other special or non-generic installation
instructions should be described below as special instructions. The following
example installs a patch to a standalone machine:
example# patchadd /var/spool/patch/<patchid-rev>
The following example removes a patch from a standalone system:
example# patchrm <patchid-rev>
NOTE: For Solaris 10, install the latest Recommended Patch Cluster. In
particular the latest revision of Patch 119254 needs to be installed.
patchadd may give some messages while installing on a system
with zones. To suppress these messages the "-G" option can be used.
example# patchadd -G /var/spool/patch/<patchid-rev>
