Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------
Please refer to the man pages for instructions on using 'patchadd'
and 'patchrm' commands provided with Solaris.
The following example installs a patch to a standalone machine:
example# patchadd /var/spool/patch/123456-07
The following example removes a patch from a standalone system:
example# patchrm 123456-07
For additional examples please see the appropriate man pages. Any
other special or non-generic installation instructions should be
described below as special instructions.
Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------
NOTE 1: The pair of patches 150510-02 and 150551-01 should not be installed
immediately after a DAP patch (For example 150400-02 and greater).
The system should be rebooted after the DAP patch is installed and
before patches 150510-02 and 150551-01. If the reboot is not carried
out, the service svc:/system/filesystem/local:default may transition
to a maintenance state upon subsequent boot. The state then has to
be cleared manually as follows:
# svcadm clear system/filesystem/local
DAP (Deferred Activation Patching) patches are recognized by the
presence of the following entry in the pkginfo files of the packages
delivered by DAP patches:
SUNW_PATCH_SAFE_MODE=true
More information about DAP patches is available at:
https://blogs.oracle.com/patch/entry/deferred_activation_patching
Similarly, these patches 150510-02 and 150551-01 should not be
installed at the same time to an alternate root boot environment
using the command 'patchadd -R client_root_path'. 150510-02 should
be installed first, and the system booted to that alternate root,
and only then should 150551-01 be installed.
NOTE: The list of 'patches required with this patch' (above) has been
modified from the list specified at patch creation time. The reason for
the modification is that one or more of the required patches was
either never released or withdrawn after its release. The following
substitutions (which are guaranteed to satisfy the original requirements)
were therefore made:
150510-02 replaces 150510-01
